All courses are based on the following National Strategy programmes:

SWGfL ICT Conference 2010 - Bristol

Targeting teaching staff, ICT subject leaders, head teachers and school governors; the SWGfL Regional ICT Conferences provide an opportunity for delegates to meet some of the biggest suppliers in the Educational ICT industry and, thanks to a host of guest speakers, provide an informative insight into best practice and future developments in the industry, from a regional perspective.

EMAS Conference
Narrowing the Gap for Minority Ethnic Pupils.  Whole school approaches for ensuring success within the new OFSTED framework on 22.03.10.

This conference is aimed at school EMA leaders, Local Authority officers, Head Teachers, School Governors, South West EMA delegates and  ACTES.  It will give a thorough overview of Ethnic Minority Achievement work within the context of the new OFSTED framework.  There will be national and local speakers as well as an exhibition of publishers and local organisations.  The conference is free.  See training materials at the top of this section.

New Arrivals Excellence: cross phase (rolling programme)

A training session for teachers and teaching assistants working with children and young people at an early stage of English and who may be new to the country.  The session will cover: the local context, how a new language is acquired, assessment for learning, intervention and support systems and the use of the EMAS website.  This session runs three times in the school year.  All schools in the three LA's may attend any one of the sessions
